LOCATION OF SABLE ROSE IN ELEUTHERA
their vist to le Sable Rose
by Diane and Dave
Eleuthera is located about 180 miles southeast of Miami. It is a one-hour flight from Ft. Lauderdale to the Governor's Harbor Airport in the midportion of Eleuthera. American Airlines has recently restarted a route from Miami the North Eleuthera. Most flights go from Ft. Lauderdale to Governors Harbour, although there are a number that go to North Eleuthera Airport, which is not far from world-famous Harbour Island (homes of Bill Gates, Ellie McPherson, Wayne Huizenga, et al)
The island is 100 miles long, and a few miles wide. Eleuthera is notable for its unusual elongated shape, with much seashore and beaches. Le Sable Rose is next to an exclusive part the island, called "Double Bay", which is renown for its fantastic, wide, long, rock-free beaches. It is also homes to such celebrities as Patti LaBelle, Treat William, the actor, and, when alive, Jacques Cousteau.
Below is a more specific map of the exact location of le Sable Rose on the island
Kemp's Creek, by the way, is a fantastic place to snorkle; it is a lagoon, with much sea-life, and the residence of a few harmless nurse sharks; first time, before I knew about sharks, I soiled my suit; but they are, basically vegetarians and won't bother you.
